We believe that we
get more done when we work together and support those who are trying to make a
difference for individuals who are poor, homeless, formerly homeless, have
mental health or traumatic brain issues. SF CARES had a long, proactive history
of speaking out publicly. You can read about some of the times when our
leaders have been advocating in the news.
Then we switched
direction: Since 2013, we've focused more on our own initiatives to
create action, not strive for media attention. With that said, we consciously
decided to not divert our attention towards journalists, yet solely towards the
needy, poverty stricken and homeless that truly need our help instead. And
that's why we stopped posting news coverage about SF CARES. Nevertheless, here
