Tenderloin Tessie Makes Us Feel Like Home

Yesterday, the annual Tenderloin Tessie Holiday Dinner took place. Three times a year - Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas - the Tenderloin Tessie team put on a stunning event whereby hundreds of homeless are fed and given free clothes, toiletries and other essentials. The dinners are unique since each guest is seated and then served food to their table vs. the traditional buffet self-service style that the homeless are familiar with.

SF CARES oversees the Singers of the Street (SOS). You can read more about them in our 'about' page and even though, sadly, from Covid-19 the SOS performances have been sporadic...yesterday that all changed. The mastermind genius pianist, James Campbell, joined forces with long time SOS'er, Mark Jackson, and they performed at the Tenderloin Tessie Easter Dinner. All this week we'll be posting videos of their wonderful concert with the legendary Vanessa Bousay on the SOS and SF CARES Facebook pages so please enjoy them, have a glorious singalong and share them with everyone.
